Maths with Ronald

I’m always happy to meet students for maths tutoring, online via Zoom. E-mail me at ronald@mathswithronald.com to get started.

Hello! I’m Ronald, a qualified maths teacher (PGCE) from the UK. I now work as an online private maths tutor.

I have a rich experience of teaching in public and private schools, and have been working as an expert maths tutor for over 10 years – and online since 2019.

I studied Maths and Computer Science (BA University of Oxford), and I’ve also studied Bioinformatics (MSc Imperial College London) – that’s statistical genetics. So, I have a good knowledge of how maths can be used in practical terms, as well as being able to teach programming and computer science concepts.

My work includes A-Level and GCSEs (International A-Levels and IGCSEs too), University entrance exams such as the SAT and ACT for American Universities and Bocconi, the MAT (Mathematical Aptitude Test), STEP and TMUA papers for Oxford, Cambridge, and UCAS applications. I’m experienced with all modules of maths, including Further Maths A-Level (Pure, Statistics, Mechanics, Discrete).

I have experience tutoring the International Baccalaureate (IBDP, AA and AI, HL and SL). And Dutch students for Wiskunde (Mathematics) A-D. And I’ve taught students at American Schools on the Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum. They say that maths/math is a universal language, after all.

I think it’s important, as a teacher, to always be a student. I’m currently learning to speak Spanish πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΈπŸ₯˜πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ͺπŸ¦™ in a beginner class where everyone speaks Dutch, my second language πŸ‡³πŸ‡±πŸŒ· Yes, I find it totally mind-bending! Hopefully, this can help me relate even more to students who want a bit of extra help with their school maths work.
